In one of the areas of the Western US that has seen the worst of times in the last 2+ years in construction, any sign of recovery and things moving in the right direction is good news.
Las Vegas has had incredible ups and downs in new home construction this decade. With each new weekly Construction Monitor report we publish I like to look at the number of single family homes for the week as an indicator of local business and consumer confidence in the market and economy.
For an area that has had many weeks in the last 2 years where there were very few and at times no new permits for single family homes, today's new report is something to celebrate.
106 new single family home permits were pulled and published in this last weeks edition.
The list of builders with multiple permits adding to these numbers contains a few names you might recognize like; KB Homes, Pulte, DR Horton, Pardee, Richmond American, Ryland, Beazer, American West, US Home, Woodside and more....
So, is this good news? Well as they say in Las Vegas...
