Midtown Nashville will see another major construction project with the beginning of a planned $100 million project.
Construction is expected to begin on the Buckingham Midtown, a 600,000-square-foot mixed-use complex at the intersection of 21st Avenue, South Broadway and Division Street, according to MusicRow.
The 17-story structure will be built on a two-acre plot of land at the intersection of the three streets. The project is being developed by Buckingham Cos. Kimpton Hotels & Restaurants will be the operator of the finished building.
The building is expected to include 180 hotel rooms and 630 parking spaces. The plan also calls for 350 one-, two- and three-bedroom apartments. The ground floor is being designed to allow for 35,000 square feet of retail and commercial space.
To assist with and enhance the project, the City of Nashville plans to improve the intersection where the construction will take place. Planned improvements include more lighting, upgraded sidewalks and adjustments to traffic patterns in the area.
Apartment residents will be able to use some of the hotel’s amenities, such as concierge services, according to the article.
The midtown Nashville construction project will be completed and rolled out in several phases, with completion scheduled for 2017. The structure is also intended to be LEED certified for green construction and energy efficiency once it is finished.
