Actor Tobey Maguire is reportedly flipping a Brentwood home for a profit of nearly $2 million. The plantation-style home in the Los Angeles neighborhood of Brentwood is on the market for $10.25 million. This price is in contrast to the $8.45 million Maguire paid for the home in 2014.
Maguire is known for his roles in movies such as the first Spider-Man trilogy, which started in 2002, as well as Seabiscuit and Cider House Rules. He has also had roles on television series such as Great Scott!, Roseanne, Blossom, and more recently, the Spoils of Babylon.
The 6,320-square-foot home, designed by well-known southern California architect John Byers, is situated on a gated three-quarter acre lot. It features five bedrooms on the first floor and a separate guest suite upstairs. The master bedroom has two fireplaces and a large bathroom with a skylight.
Several interconnected living and dining areas give access to a covered outdoor living room and pool area. A spacious family room near the kitchen boasts a vaulted ceiling with a skylight surrounded by exposed wooden beams.
Other features include a large outdoor child’s playhouse, hardwood floors, outdoor stone walkways, an open floor-plan kitchen and an in-ground swimming pool.
Maguire’s piece of real estate has passed through the hands of several other film and television celebrities, including Ricki Lake, known for her long-lived television talk show, and Courteney Cox, known for her role as Monica on the popular comedy series Friends.
